July 13, 1861 marks the birth of Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix. The founding of the township Denonville, also called "Township Denonville", was proclaimed in homage to the Marquis Denonville, governor of New France.
Since 2005, the Hydromellerie Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix has been the pride of the village. Dedicated to the artisanal manufacture of alcoholic beverages made from honey, it is the only one of its kind in Bas-Saint-Laurent. In addition to production activities, the Hydromellerie Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix is ??intended to be a place intended to promote and showcase the work of bees. The municipality is also host to 4 wind turbines (among the highest in Quebec) which give its landscape a unique character.
