Gentile: Saint-Hubertin and Saint-Hubertine
Population: 1279
Origin:
The municipality of Saint-Hubert was incorporated in 1885. The appellation honors Saint Hubert, the patron saint of hunters. At the time of colonization, the place was strongly renowned as a place of fishing and hunting. This is still the case today. The municipality quickly becomes an important resort center with these three lakes on its territory.
Tourist history:
Several hundred resort residences line the municipality's three lakes (de la Grande-Fourche, Saint-Hubert and Saint-François). The Saint-Hubert and Saint-François lakes are part of a natural landscape of hills and forest, while the Grande-Fourche lake offers a less rugged and agro-forest landscape.
